With the enactment of the Hartford Preservation Ordinance in 2005, Hartford formally recognized that its architectural past can play a significant role in its economic future.
If your Hartford property is located within a local, state or national historic district or is individually listed on the State and/or National Register of Historic Places, exterior work on the property that requires a building permit (i.e. replacing windows, siding, porch repair or replacement, etc.) will need to be reviewed to insure that the planned renovations follow the city’s design guidelines.
